The process

How spray foam removal works

What happens from the moment you get in touch to the day you get your completion report.

1. You get in touch

Fill in the form or call us. Tell us why you need the foam removed and whether there's a deadline, such as a completion date or an equity release offer. We'll arrange a time for the survey.

2. The free survey

We go up into the loft and check the type of foam, how much of the roof it covers, the condition of the membrane, and how easy the loft is to work in. It usually takes under an hour.

3. Your fixed price

We send you a written quote with the price for removal and disposal, and separate lines for re-insulation or any repairs. That's the price you pay. If we later find something we couldn't see, such as rot behind the foam, we stop and talk to you before doing anything extra.

4. Removal day

We sheet the route from the front door to the loft hatch. In the loft, the foam is cut back from the rafters and scraped from the timbers and membrane, then bagged up. Most homes take two to five days. You can usually stay at home while we work.

5. Clean-down and inspection

Once the foam is out we clean the timbers so they can be inspected, and photograph the whole roof. We note anything a surveyor would want to know about, such as old water staining.

6. Waste disposal

The bagged foam is taken to a licensed site by a registered waste carrier. You get a waste transfer note as proof.

7. Re-insulation

If it's part of your quote, we lay new insulation so the house is warm again and ready for a buyer.

8. Your completion report

You get a report with before and after photos, notes on the timbers, details of any insulation fitted and the waste transfer note. Send it to your solicitor or estate agent so it reaches the buyer's lender.
