Loft re-insulation after spray foam removal
Once the foam is out, your loft needs insulating again. We can do both in one job.
Why re-insulate
Removing spray foam leaves the roof space uninsulated, and a lot of heat escapes through an uninsulated loft. Re-insulating straight away keeps your heating bills down and means the house is ready for a buyer.
What we normally fit
For most lofts we lay mineral wool insulation between and over the ceiling joists. This keeps the loft itself cold and ventilated, which is how most UK roofs are designed to work, and it's easy for a surveyor to see and lift.
If you use your loft as a room, the options are different, and we'll talk them through at the survey.
In your paperwork
The insulation we fit is recorded in your completion report, so your buyer's surveyor can see what's there and why.
Re-insulation: questions
Can I keep using my loft for storage?
Yes. If you need boarding over the insulation, tell us at the survey so it can be raised to keep the insulation at full depth.
